Oneday...

My big girl and her fascinator!

...i would LOVE to get all dressed up and wear those real hideous looking fascinators...and go to the races (even though i hate horse races)...or possibly a high tea or something.  How much fun it would be to pretend that i'm classy and rich!!!

2012 Draft

So...it seems i have start a bit of a trend.  While i don't by any means think that I infact started the bucketlist...it has got quite a few my friends talking.  Infact...one even added her list (well, the beginings of) to her blog.  AWESOME! we are never too young to set goals, have dreams and aspirations.  Infact...the earlier you start...the more likely you are to achieve...so i hope.

Well...a few of you have emailed and asked "what else is on your list?"  So i thought i'd share a few more with ya.  You may laugh, you may mock...but, be prepared for me to laugh at your dreams if you do.  And rest assured, i'll outlaugh you...

1.  Shake hands with the President of the United States - I don't know how i would make that happen, but for some reason...it's on my list.

2.  Have a street named after me - That would be cool.

3.  Get my photo taken with an african...like from one of those tribes...so i guess

4.  ...i'd have to go to Africa and visit one of those tribes

5.  Go the top of the Empire State Building and spit off it

6.  Visit the Statue of Liberty

7.  Learn another languge - but one that hardly anyone i know speaks...so i'm thinking maybe an arab language.  That would fun.  And hard...i don't know any arabs.

8.  Go to an NBA final - I'm not even that HARDOUT into basketball...but going to an NBA final would be FANTASTIC!

9.  Go to Egypt - I wanna see the pyramids, the sphynx or however you spell it, and i want to horseback ride a camel through the desert.

10.  Own a full Kimono dress thingee - i just love Japan.  Need i say more.

11.  Have my own personal chef - i want one that cooks only indian food.

12.  Take my girls to All Disney Resorts in America - I'm gonna have to start saving for that one NOW

13.  Own 100 pairs or more of Chuck Taylors - I used to own 15...but they got wrecked...currently i only have 3 pairs...BOOOOOO!

14.  Build my own home - Complete with Scullery, Mudroom, Swimming pool, tennis court (i hate tennis, but a tennis court makes you look flasher), and a walk in wardrobe dedicated to just my collection of Chuck Taylors.

15.  Stage a fake celebrity Stake out - How much fun would it be to stand outside a hotel, pretend a celebrity is there...start chanting their name...and wait and see how many dummies will stop and join in.  Once there is a group big enough...i'll quietly step away and watch them get embarrassed when they find out that said fake star is not even in the country.  Does that make sense? I already have 2 recruits...i need atleast 10 more to make it look legit.

16.  Get my photo in the conference edition of the Ensign - I would honestly go to Temple Square and do anything possibly cheesey to get my photo in there.

17.  Be at Time Square on New Year's Eve - I wanna see the ball drop.

18.  Be Villan on Shortland Street - They are all such terrible actors on that show...i think i'd be able to overact just as well as them.

19.  Write a short story entitled "i got 27 FB alerts, and it was all from the same annoying person who i didn't even realise was my friend on FB".  - True Story.

20.  Make the front page of the newspaper - but for something GOOD...not dodgey.  Not that i've been on the front page for something dodgey.

So that's some of my list.  My list is forever changing...what's on your list?

Another big PASS

So here's a task i thought i'd never get to pass off

Be an extra in a movie.

Last night...i passed it off.  Today, tomorrow and the next day...i will continue to pass of this task.  SAAAAWEEET!

Oh, and big thanks to everyone who has commented (mostly to email or in person).  It especially makes me feel like my efforts in updating this blog are worth while.  i know Blogger is quite hideous when it comes to commenting.  Even i don't get it at times.  But thanks for reading.

PASS or FAIL

So a couple of days ago i found some of my old journals...at the beginning of each journal was a list of things i wanted to accomplish in the year...one list was entitled "100 things i want to do before i die".  It's quite an interesting read.  I thought i would share a few of the ones i have either passed, not quite, or failed at MISERABLY.  How bout i share 29...one for each year i've been alive...here goes.

1.  Go to Disneyland

PASS - Infact i managed to go twice in my life time....and to TWO different disneylands. California...and this is photo of me infront of the castle at Tokyo Disneyland.

2.  Meet Michael Jackson

FAIL

3.  See Michael Jackson live in Concert - PASS

4.  Get my photo infront of cool universal studio sign you see on tv all the time...

PASS

5.  Go to Hollywood Boulevard and see the Walk of Fame..get Photo next to Michael Jackson, and Eddie Murphy's Stars - PASS/FAIL

I made it to Hollywood Boulevard, unfortunately there was a protest around Mj's star so i couldn't get near it...and i didn't know where to find Eddie Murphy's star...but i did find his handprint by the Chinese theatre...i just can't find the photo to prove it.  It's on one of many of my hundreds of discs.

6.  See the San Diego Temple - PASS - Photo on Same disc as Eddie Murphy photo.

7.  Have a pet Turtle

PASS - My parents finally gave in and bought me turtle for christmas back in 2001.  After a few years i outgrew (neglected) the turtle...he is now in the trusty hands of my mates little sister who apparently is taking extremely good care of him.  Twas fun having a turtle though.

8.  Go to Dream World

PASS - Not only did i go to dream world...but i wore a dress on all the rides.  It was part of a Y.S.A conference i went too.  I didn't think we would actually have to wear a dress to the ball...so i didn't pack a ball dress...so i'm wearing a dress that was a bit too big and super flowy...and had to be pinned at the back...was awesome when going on rides that went upside down...but i got good leg exercise from trying to hold it down.
9.  See the Hong Kong Temple

PASS - It's across the road from Jackie Chans house too...we tried peaking over the fence to get a good look...but it's well guarded.  Hmmm...jackie Chan...living in the light of the Temple.

10.  Pass my learner's, Restricted, and Full license of the first go

PASS/FAIL - Learner's and Restricted YES...full NO.  It took me 3 times to get it.  The first time i was failed for speeding, the second time for driving too slow...3rd times a charm.

11.  Go for a ride in a limo (gosh...aiming for the stars Chrissy...laugh)

PASS - Sorry, bad photo...this is actually an enlargement of a proof shot.  But yep, for my friends birthday she had a limo pick us up from Rainbows End and take us for a drive to up to Mt Eden.   I've since been in a limo a few times...but back then, they were all the rave...

12.  Have my photo taken infront of the Sydney Opera House

PASS - Hideous photo, but the only one i could find.  But i rock my ugly.

13.  Have my photo taken infront of the Sydney Harbour Bridge

PASS - Not hard to do, considering the Opera House is like right next to it.

14.  Be in the audience at a live taping of ANY tv show.

PASS - Here we are on the set of McDonalds Young Entertainers...my 2 younger cousins were in the Super troope.  I've since been to many live tapings...i even went to one in Japan for a show my cousins were regulars on.  The Manhattans sung "lets just kiss and say goodbye"...AWESOME MAN!

15.  Stay unmarried till atleast 50 when i'm no longer able to have children - FAIL

16. See the Twin Towers in Person - FAIL - For obvious reasons...

17.  Go to Temple Square - PASS - Photos on same disc as Eddie Murphy and San Diego.

18.  Go to a live Taping of F.R.I.E.N.D.S - FAIL - The show is no longer being taped...HOWEVER, it still airs on tv everyday at 6.30pm...and has done so for atleast the last...gosh atleast 2005...so 7 years.

19.  Go to the South Island - PASS - Technically i made it there in 2001...a stopover i Christchurch airport after flying ALL THE WAY from Japan.  Why did we stop there? i don't know.  But i never made it out of the airport lounge.  In 2009 i finally made it there for the first time...took the Inter-Islander and everything and spent a week in Sunny (now flooding) Nelson.

20.  Visit the Laie Hawaii Temple

PASS

21.  Swim at Waimea Bay

PASS - I thought i had scanned the photo of me next to the Waimea Bay Sign...but i haven't.  But i assure you...this is waimea bay...just look at how the deep the water is, and i'm barely away from the sand.
22.  Visit P.C.C...go to all the Villages and watch the Canoe and Night shows.

PASS

23.  See Janet jackson live in Concert - PASS - She was good, but nobody beats michael.  I would've posted a photo of her, but it's very hard to find a photo where her chest area is not on display.

24.  Go Fishing and catch atleast one fish.

PASS - Not only did a catch a 1.5 Kilo Salmon within 5 minutes of being shown how to cast a rod...i also caught 6 Cods and a Baby shark...i was the ONLY one to catch a shark...but had to throw it back cause it was a baby and needed to be big enough to eat people.  But not bad for a first time fisher huh.

25.  Go to the Wellington Sevens and win one of the $1000 spot prizes

PASS/FAIL - I went 3 years in a row...didn't win a thing.  I did see myself on the big screen though.  Sadly i haven't been since.

26.  See An All Blacks game - PASS - I went to two...pretty shocking statistics for someone who lives in the Home Country of the All Blacks

27.  Go to Las Vegas - PASS - No photos...for some unknown reason, i just didn't take any...actually the next goal will tell you why.

28.  Play the slots at Vegas, win no less than $100 - PASS/FAIL - A first time gambler (you just have to in Vegas).  I played the slots, got up to $163...i got greedy, tried to double my money AND....LOST IT ALL!

29.  Have $20,000 in the bank before i'm 21 years old

BIG FAT FAIL - That is all!

Bucket List task 3.

How cute is this little cupcake? This is a lipgloss.  My mum gave me a whole bunch of these for christmas.  Anywho...

Cupcakes seem to be the in things these days.  Every other person has made a little side business for themselves selling off their delicious treats.  I on the other hand...wouldn't even know how to make a cupcake, let alone a GOOD cupcake.

Task number 14...master a good cupcake recipe, SO good that my MOTHER would buy a batch off me.  I don't need to have my own cupcake business...i just want to see if my mum would actually pay for my baking...lets face it...i CAN'T bake.  I'm the only person i know of (but i'm sure there's many), who has had to throw out a silicone baking tray because the muffins got stuck! and no amount of ANYTHING would get them out.   This task might take me a lifetime!

Task number 2

One thing i'm discovering about myself...i take pretty alright photos...but wouldn't go as far as to call myself a photographer...no no...i just have an overpriced camera...laugh.  But photography is something i definitely enjoy.  I never took the subject in High School, because i was planning on becoming a lawyer, or an actress...or something that made me a whole bunch of money.  But like all fads...those goals faded...but my love for photography never has...now i wish i took that subject...i'd probably be way better.  Everything i've learn't has been self taught.

This year i want to really dedicate more time to my hobby. I want to learn new tricks, and make a whole folio for myself...if not for display, but just for my own enjoyment!

It's my daughters 4th birthday today.  We brought her a bike.  Unfortunately the weather has been HORRIBLE.  She so badly wants to ride her new bike outside...so far she has been banished to the garage to do so...she asked me when she could finally go outside...i said "when the rain stops".  So she sat by the door waiting.  I decided to sit with her for a bit while my family finished lunch...i got out the camera and started snapping raindrops.  As much as i hate the rain right now...the colours are just pretty!!!

I love water photos...so now added to my bucket list...take a BRILLIANT water/rain photo and sell it for no less than $100.  Being able to take a photo that someone would actually want to buy would be AMAZING! hmmm...i think i might also add do a an awesome photoshoot of my kids in the rain to the list...they'll probably get sick...but if the photo looks great...then it's all worth it. LAUGH!

The hardest and most rewarding of all tasks!

My proudest moment...and moment i VOWED never to have.  I was never maternal (still aren't in some ways).  But i'm enjoying the challenges and rewards of motherhood.  Happy birthday to my first born...4 years old today...and what a 4 years it's been!

Bucket list task number 1.

My list is in not in particular order of preference.  It's just written down as it came to my head.
I LOVE perfumes.  I can remember going to stores and spraying all the testers on me, on cards...on anything...i would come home smelling to high heaven of a million different fragrances...it would make people sick.  But, i didn't care.

Before i die, i would really really REALLY love to make my own fragrance.  How cool would that be?  Even if it was just for me.  Choosing the different fragrances to blend, a bottle, a name...having an original scent that no one else has...and hopefully one...that everybody will want.

Now to figure out how to go about doing that.  Watch this space.

What's on your list?

Some of you may not know this about me...i'm obsessed with LISTS! i love making lists, writing down things that need to be done, crossing off completed tasks...ahhh the satisfaction.  Yet, even during this love affair with list making...i cannot for the life of me make and keep new years resolutions.  You'd think i'd be excited about writing down my goals for the year and be eager to cross them off...but i just can't to do it.  Why is that? My general rule as of late when coming to NYR is to make a WHOLE BUNCH and then vow to not complete ANY.  That way, i've already succeeded.

This year HOWEVER, the Mayans have predicted the end of the world.  I'm willing to bet $1 that it won't end and the mayans will be left scratching their heads.  But nonetheless, if the world WERE to infact end...would i be satisfied with the things i have accomplished thus far in my period of life upon the earth???? the short answer...NO!

It's no big secret, i have a bucket list.  Yes, i'm possibly just a little bit to young (just a little) to be breaking out the old pen and paper and writing up my wish list of things to do before taking the old dirt nap...but...i like lists...and a bucket list has the potential to go on for ages. I have spoken to some people about some of my desired goals, hopes and dreams that consume my bucket list.  Most times i get laughs.  I was even told i needed to be more realistic with my goals...and to not dream so big.  Yes, someone ACTUALLY said that to me.  It's not like i'm wanting to steal the moon, or clone myself.  I get really ticked off when people tell me my dreams are silly....like it's wrong for me to DARE to dream big.  Is it seriously that impossible for me to go to New York and do a helicopter tour of the city??? I think that's more realistic than travelling into outer space. Ahhh...stuff them.  I'll show them.

So, what's on your list? do you have a list? what's something you absolutely have to do before you punch out?  or even better...what's something you want to accomplish this year?

This year, i would like to develope a new talent...something i've never done before...something i wouldn't normally do...suggestions welcome...cause i still haven't come up with my new talent.  But anywho...as the year progresses, i will be documenting my triumphs and my pitfalls on my quest to conquer the world...i invite you to join me...leave me comments if you like...nice ones if you do...this is gonna be a great year...i can feel it.

Who is Ms Mak?

Hey hey! Welcome to my blog…my name is Chrissy.  I’m a charmingly whity individual with looks to match.  LAUGH! I like popcorn with m&m’s (thanks friend who introduce me to that combo…you know who you are…I’ll call you “heavenly flower”), I love driving long distances for no reason, blasting the sounds with all the windows down…probably adding to the pollution problem…but it makes me happy.  I have a love hate relationship with the beach.  I love the beach. I hate the ocean.  I have the same relationship with tomatoes…I love tomato sauce…I hate the vegetable.  I despise the whole Twilight Saga.  I will not be roped in.  I have an obsession with large and expensive DSLR Cameras.  I’m equally if not more obsessed with “beats by dre” headphones.  Probably the same if not more expensive than some DSLR’s.  Michael Jackson is and will always be my favourite artist.  My favourite colour is green.  My favourite Perfume is Ck Eternity…though I mostly wear Ralph Lauren.  I think the microwave is the answer to all life’s problems…and don’t even be sending me information on how Microwaves can give me cancer…I’m not interested.  I DON’T CARE!  I’m Christian by choice.  I don’t drink cause I think it’s STUPID…I don’t smoke cause I’m NOT stupid…I’m aware I have bad habits though.  I’m not perfect. I say what I’m thinking; you’ll know how I’m feeling…I often offend…not intentionally.  I KNOW how to say sorry…an important skill.  I wish I had a mountain bike…I'd ride everywhere.  I want a pet baby shark.  I caught one my very first time fishing.  He wasn’t big enough to eat anyone, so I had to throw him back.  I love to travel.  One day I want to go to the Middle East and see the pyramids and go for a horseback ride on a camel.  I think Japanese people are the most intriguing people on earth.  Oh how I long to return to Japan.  I love music…I’m not musically talented.  I’ve always wanted to be a Hollywood critique…I can’t write an article to save myself.  I’m a fan of Paul Henry…anything you say, will not change my mind about him.  If I could be anyone for a day…I’d be me…with unlimited amounts of money.  I like eating with chopsticks.  It makes me feel cultured.  Contrary to popular belief…I love to read.  Just not about Vampires and werewolves with issues…conspiracy, thriller, funny short stories…that’s my gig.  I own the Entire Friends Collection.  I believe it to be one of the best comedy series EVER.  I love quoting movies…I love people that can quote movies…I despise people that can out quote me.  When I was a kid, I vowed never to marry or have children…that was the worst possible thing that I thought could happen to me.  I’m currently married…happily…coming up 6 years and have two spawn…The best thing to EVER happen to me.
